This past weekend, I finally had the opportunity to visit Hop Häus. This restaurant has been on my list for quite some time, and I am happy to report that it did not disappoint! The atmosphere inside is so cozy and fun and the staff members we chatted with were so nice. My boyfriend and I initially came in for a quick drink and an appetizer (or two), but our quick stop-in soon turned into hours of fun. We wound up trying a bunch of different drinks and two appetizers. Out of all the drinks we had, my favorite was the "Pear Harvest Martini." This drink consisted of gin, pear puree, rosemary, simple syrup, and lemon topped with prosecco. It was so good that I wound up getting two! It was so smooth, light, bubbly, and fun! The second runner up was definitely the "Fall Berry Mule!" It was the perfect combination of sweet (but not overly sweet) and comforting, just like a mule should be. Next, for appetizers, we tried the hot honey chicken sliders and the short rib poppers. The short rib poppers were so incredible! They consisted of their Häus chips topped with garlic mashed potatoes and braised short rib. They were so unique and fun to eat! These are an absolute must try in my opinion, and I will definitely be getting them every time I go! We were also seated by the restaurant photographer, and all the other food and drink options that the staff brought out for her to photograph made my mouth water. I will definitely be back in the near future and will likely make this one of my go-to spots in town!
Haven't been in here in a while, heard they had a new menu/chef so figured we'd give it a shot. So glad we did! We sat at the bar and were greeted really fast, got our drinks in minutes. The place filled up pretty quick while we were there and the service did not miss a beat. We started with the chicken lollipops, they had Moroccan seasoning, a little sweet, a little spice, on a dill cream w/pickled onions. They did not disappoint, bigger than a wing, smaller than a leg.. 2 fried chicken tacos- these were perfect and filling, crispy chicken, street corn... Pimento hush puppies, these were surprisingly one of my favorites, who doesn't love hushpuppies - filled with gooey pimento cheese Truffle fries, skin on fries. Truffle aioli drizzle, parm, truffle oil Deviled eggs, these were on point, creamy, mustardy, topped with bacon Great ver selection and craft cocktails- will be back!
For our first visit to Hop Häus we got the giant Bavarian pretzel, which comes with three dipping sauces (probably the best beer cheese I've had!), a couple burgers cooked to a perfect medium, and the pastrami Reuben, which was delicious, although a bit salty. Washed it down with a Coke, espresso martini, and a Maine blueberry beer, recommended by our friendly server. I'm happy to hear that there's another Hop Häus in Berlin, closer to me and the perfect excuse to visit again! Plenty of seating, good food and music... what more could you want?
Hop Haus has a new culinary team since my last visit, with some really fun new dishes like short rib poppers and pimento hush puppies! Highly recommend visiting to check out their new offerings!
What a venue! Impressive food, ambiance, staff and local craft beer selections. Came here with the family on our New England states trip, and it was one of our favorite restaurants on the trip! This would definitely be a regular "go to" if I lived near/around the area or were to travel back here again! Rivals any other worthy brewpub! We shared the Cajun Ranch fries (5/5) and Cast Iron Queso (4/5, since it was a little hard to get out the bottom portion from the cast iron skillet). Sampled the husband's Lou's Fig Melt (7/5)--my goodness, what an amazing array of complimentary flavors!--my son's Coffee Rubbed Hamburger (5/5), and had The Frenchman Burger (6/5), which had incredible flavor and would only be made better on a colder day. (Their French onion soup is great as well since it was included in this dish.) Our server/bartender was very knowledgeable about the craft beers in the area, and she made great recommendations for not only beers but food.
Service was great! We were greeted as soon as we walked in and walked to a table. Waitress was attentive and asked for drink order as soon as we sat down. She helped me find a sour I had looked up prior to arrival that I forgot the name of. I've been to the Berlin location and like the newness of it but this location has way more charm! The fans on the wall are pretty cool. I've never seen anything like them before. The building is older and brick and has a lot of character. I am a sucker for an older building! The beer was good, love sours! The deviled eggs were better at the Berlin location. These were mustardy and I didn't care for them. Loved the salad, the cornmeal croutons were so good!! Waitress was great and took the eggs off the bill. I'll definitely go back! Have to get the bacon potato bombs next time!
Tasty food, great beer and cocktail selection. Enjoy coming to Hop Haus before later in the evening adventures. Enjoyed the Frenchman burger and homemade chips. Was awesome! Will get it again next time. Apps were tasty too!
It was nice to go back to this place, I haven't been here for quite some time. We went on a Friday night and it was busy, we had about a 10 minute wait for a table. The staff was very friendly and prompt. Prior to going there I was looking at the online menu and was looking forward to their Sloppy Joes, but I was informed that they had just changed their menu and that wasn't available now so I was a little disappointed. So I then ordered the Chicken and waffles. The chicken and waffle was a Captain Crunch crusted chicken breast with a drizzle of maple syrup on top of a waffle. It was a very interesting concept that worked! The sweetness of the cereal worked with the saltiness of the chicken. I was expecting a bigger waffle, but it's not like a breakfast waffle, it's smaller just big enough for the chicken to sit on. There was a snafu with the first order, and I informed the waiter and the manager Spence came right over and immediately took care of the issue. Everyone else also enjoyed their meals too. Overall we had a great time, and it was nice to get back to my old hangout .
